Water-surface missed bites are the norm in Hirasuzuki(Japanese rocky-shore seabass) top-water games.
On a surface whipped by waves and whitewash, the lure is pushed aside and hooks have trouble finding the fish’s mouth,
easily leading to missed strikes. In pursuit of better hooking performance,
we overturned the “belly-mounted hook” convention and arrived at the “Claw Hook,” which places hooks on both side flanks.
